April 24, 2020. CALL FIRST! – COVID-19 Message Expand/Collapse

Friday April 24, 2020

Dear Members – ALWAYS CALL FIRST!

We are asking for your help in protecting ALL OF US, including RCU staff. We cannot stress the importance of keeping branch visits to essential banking needs only.

Essential banking needs do not include passbook updates, bill payments, sending wires, ordering cheques, depositing cheques, renewing investments, renewing mortgages, changing your address, or setting up internet banking. These can all be taken care of over the phone (416-532-3400 or toll free 1-877-525-7285), by email (rpcul@rpcul.com), or by making use of our night deposit box. If you show up at the branch for any non-essential banking needs, you can be turned away. Please call ahead to set up an appointment for all other services.

We are now offering CRA direct deposit enrolment online. You will be able to receive the following CRA payments through direct deposit: the new Canada Emergency Response Benefit, income tax refund, Canada child benefit, goods and services tax/harmonized sales tax (GST/HST) credit, Canada workers benefit and related provincial and territorial payments. You can find more details and instructions here https://www.rpcul.com/ProductsAndServices/Banking/CRADirectDeposit/.

Also, we understand that some of our members may be experiencing financial hardship during this time. If you find you are having difficulty in making your RCU mortgage payments, please contact our Credit Department to discuss your options and to determine if you would qualify to defer your mortgage payments.

Please visit our website www.rpcul.com or our Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/RCUResurrectionCreditUnion/ for any updates.

We wish all our members continued good health,

Thank you,

Updated COVID-19 Message Expand/Collapse

March 19, 2020

Dear RCU Members,

The Staff and Board of RCU hope that you are all in good health and are managing well during this difficult time.

I wanted to provide you with an update with the increased measures that we have taken at RCU to help protect our members and staff. Some of the added steps include increased cleaning and disinfection of the branch. We have also implemented self-isolation of staff who have travelled abroad, and flex hours or working from home to help limit the staffs' exposure. We have made changes to our branch hours that have come into effect today, Thursday, March 19, 2020.

You may have already seen our updated hours on our website and Facebook page or noticed them posted at the Main branch. The Anapilis branch is closed until further notice. The Main branch will be open to members from 10:00 am – 3:00 pm Monday to Friday, and closed Saturday and Sunday. Also, we have extended hours for telephone banking, and online support, you will be able to speak to RCU staff over the phone by calling 416-532-3400 or 1-877-525-7285 Monday to Friday between 9:00 am and 6:00 pm and on Saturdays from 9:00 am -1:00 pm.

There are several ways that we can serve you even if you can't come into the credit union. By calling us during the support hours, we can take care of bill payments, transfers between accounts, GIC and Mortgage renewals, RRSP, RRIF and TFSAs renewals. We also have a night depository right by the front doors of the credit union that you may not have used before. This night depository opens wide enough to accept regular envelopes, and you can place your deposit in a sealed envelope with your name and account number written on the outside and deposit it there. We will be checking the night depository several times a day on the days that the credit union is open.

If you are not enrolled in or have not used our online banking channel or mobile app, please call the branch during our telephone banking hours at 416-532-3400 and we can set this up for you, or assist you with any challenges you may be facing.

With your RCU debit card, you can make withdrawals at over 3,000 ATMs in Canada free of charge by using The Exchange Network https://theexchangenetwork.ca/Find-An-ATM.aspx, and some ATMs allow deposits as well. Please remember that deposits made at ATMs do have a hold placed on them until the deposit can be verified (usually a few days). Also, as of today, RCU is waiving all POS service charges on personal and business accounts until further notice. Using our mobile app, you can also make deposits using remote deposit capture (certain limits apply-check our website www.rpcul.com )

As we asked in our previous notice, we remain committed to our members and ask that you also follow the recommendations of Health Canada. If you are experiencing any flu-like symptoms or any of the following; fever, cough, difficulty breathing, or are in self-isolation, or have recently travelled, please contact us to see if we can assist you before you visit the branch.

It is true that "we are all in this together" and the success in fighting the pandemic will depend on how committed we are in doing our part to stop the spread of the virus.

We continue to strive to do our best to work with our members, if you have any concerns about your financial matters at RCU, please contact us.

Sincerely,

Linda Moroz

Dear Members,

Like you, we at RCU Credit Union have been following the concerns and developments on the spread of the COVID-19 virus around the world. This week the World Health Organization has declared the coronavirus outbreak a pandemic.

RCU continues to take measures to protect our staff and our members from infection and to assure continued operations at our credit union branches. We are actively following the guidelines established by Health Canada https://www.canada.ca/en/public-health/services/diseases/coronavirus-disease-covid-19.html and the World Health Organization. We continue to ensure that our staff is well informed and have taken extra steps to clean the high touch areas within the branches throughout the day. We remain committed to our members and ask that you also follow the recommendations of Health Canada. If you are experiencing any flu-like symptoms or any of the following; fever, cough, difficulty breathing, or are in self-isolation, or have recently travelled, please contact us to see if we can assist you before you visit a branch.

We have many other ways that we can service your banking needs. You can call in your request 416-532-3400 or 1-877-525-7285 or email your request to rpcul@rpcul.com. If you currently are not enrolled in our online banking www.rpcul.com or using our mobile app, please call us, and

we can assist you in registering for it. If you are having challenges with online banking, call us, and we will help you.

These are unsettling times, but we want you to know that we have pandemic management plans in place. Our goal is to keep our staff and members safe while continuing to serve our members’ needs. Our branch hours remain unchanged at this time.

Please continue to monitor our website www.rpcul.com and Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/RCUResurrectionCreditUnion/  for any updates or changes.

The health and well being of our members and staff remains our primary concern.
