February 24, 2026, marked four years since the Russian Federation launched its full-scale invasion of Ukraine. RCU Credit Union donated $10,000 at the start of the war in 2022 to the Canada Ukraine Foundation to support humanitarian aid. This year we are donating an additional $5,000. The Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal had identified the desperate need for electric generators as Russia continues to attack the country’s heating and electric infrastructure leaving Ukrainian citizens in the dark and cold during one of the harshest winters in years. RCU Credit Union was founded 63 years ago by Lithuanians who were forced to leave their homeland, escaping Russian invasion and rule. Over the past four years people everywhere have shown their support for the people of Ukraine. They understand the importance for Ukraine to fight to retain their freedom and autonomy in the face of this aggressor.

We commend the continued bravery of the people of Ukraine, and our hearts reach out to the people of Ukraine and those impacted by this war.
