RRSPs are Registered Retirement Savings Plans. This product was introduced to help Canadians save for their retirement and to reduce current year income taxes paid. These plans are registered with the Canadian Government and can be set-up at RCU. Your contribution amount for each year is based on your previous year’s earned income. The Canadian Revenue Agency (the CRA) notifies you annually on your Notice of Assessment about your individual contribution limit and if you have any carry forward room available.

Depending on how you choose to set-up your plan either you or your spouse or your common-law partner can make contributions on your behalf. Speak to RCU about your options.
